Matthias Haentjens is the Director of Hazelhoff Centre for Financial Law. He is primarily interested in the way in which systems of law deal with international financial developments and its innovations. His fields of interests include international financial law, insolvency law, and private law (general).?
His key publications include ‘The Law Applicable to Indirectly Held Securities’, a book on conflict of laws rules in the context of international securities transactions (published in 2006), and his dissertation, ‘Harmonisation of Securities Law, Custody and Transfer of Securities in European Private Law’ (published in 2007 with Kluwer Law International).?
Professor Haentjens is the Editor of the Journal of European Property Law, Co-author of a leading commentary on securities law statutes (Tekst & Commentaar Ondernemingsrecht Effectenrecht (Wft)). He can speak Dutch, English, French, and German.
